MY DESIGN JOURNEY

Hello, I’m Nicola.

I’ve always believed our homes have the power to change how we feel. The best interiors aren’t about perfection or expense​. They’re about creating spaces that tell your story, spark emotion and feel completely yours.

After studying Set Design at Central Saint Martins, I spent over 25 years working creatively, developing a fascination with how colour, texture, light and furniture shape the way we experience a space. My South African heritage and the ten years I spent living there continue to influence my love of craftsmanship, natural materials and beautifully layered interiors.

I created Salvage + Spruce to make interior design feel approachable, collaborative and rooted in real life. Whether we’re refreshing a single room or transforming an entire home, I begin by listening​, to how you live, what you love and how you want your home to feel.

I believe the most beautiful homes evolve over time. They mix old with new, celebrate craftsmanship, embrace colour and are filled with pieces that have meaning. Sustainability is at the heart of my approach too, from restoring forgotten furniture and sourcing vintage finds to helping you see the potential in what you already own.

Alongside my interior design work, I’m also a proud Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® stockist in Bruton and Frome, offering expert colour advice, decorative paint products and creative workshops.
